5 Ways to Upcycle Old Clothes

It takes 2700 litres of water to be able to produce just one t-shirt. With the rising threats of global warming, there is no doubt that one must be careful of their material consumption. Here are 5 ways that you can upcycle your old clothes and reuse them. Click on the titles for the direct links to an easy YouTube tutorial of the DIY!

You can never be too cautious when it comes to staying safe from the coronavirus. You can also never have too many cute face masks. You can use any fabric scraps you have lying around. You can use your old denims, t-shirts, sarees, pyjamas and practically any piece of fabric to make your own DIY face masks. To jazz it up even more, you can paint on them, do embroidery or even make them two sided. These face masks will be completely washable and reusable. And you can send some matching ones for your friends as well!

WIth the 90s and early 2000s fashion coming back, scrunchies have become a big hit recently. They are super easy to make and they look so cute to wear too! All you need is a strip of fabric, an elastic and fabric glue.

Making tote bags out of t-shirts is as easy as it gets when it comes to DIY and upcycling old clothes. All you need is a t-shirt and a pair of scissors to pull this cute project off.

I know going back to school is probably not happening for at least a couple of months but that gives you all the more time to upcycle that old denim you have lying around into a cute pencil case!

If sewing, hot gluing, and cutting up clothes isn’t your thing and you just want to change how an old boring t-shirt or denims look, then this is a great at home activity for you! And all you really need is bleach and a few rubber bands. You can also take it a step ahead by getting some fabric dye on amazon and doing a tie dye. And trust when I say this, there is no way to mess it up!

Being in quarantine has us all being bored at home. Might as well use this time to be creative and save the planet!
