When we were kids, we relied on our family, friends, and teachers to nurture and protect us. During these growing years, we often formed ideas that were helpful then. But when we take these childhood ideas into adulthood, we usually find that they no longer work.
We are frequently ignorant of what's happening. Often, we don't understand the impact our thoughts have on our lives.
We experience feelings of fear, doubt, resentment – and these modes of thinking have become innate in our lives. Now we approach the real world with our dreams and responsibilities. Unaware of the world, we are to enter.
With the ever-increasing cut-throat competition, it gets harder to find a firm foothold and survive, let alone pursue our dreams. It is not easy to cope with everyone's expectations and, at the same time, be content with ours.
The lack of support from society, followed by a lack of self-belief within ourselves, makes us question our abilities. Consequently, we fall into the very cycle of life we once revolted.
Wide awake, can't sleep;
The journey seems too steep,
Afraid to take that leap,
For the dreams that I keep.
Yearning to break free,
Wrecking the shackles put on me,
By the norms of society,
Bound by my mentality.
Doubts they've instilled in me,
Prevails over everything I see,
Self-belief is the key,
Psyche with a resolute tenacity.
Locked away and confined,
Societal barriers drag humankind.
Often leaving me behind,
Prisoner of my own mind.
Comprehending the trouble,
Forging our mettle,
Strife through the people,
Abolishing our struggle.
Now we've overcome the masses,
Time to end the inner crisis,
A belief we must harness,
Freedom lies beyond the darkness.
We can control our minds. Only we can give ourselves mental freedom.
Once we understand the influence of our mindset over reality, only then can we be mentally free.
Believe that we have the power to break through these virtual shackles put on us.
What is holding you down?
What are the shackles in your life?
